Created from Grade A medium density fiberboard also known as MDF which is very commonly used for furniture, cabinetry, shelving and decorative moldings. The shelf ships in 1 piece. • Hollow in the back creating the look of a solid piece of wood, but without the weight or difficulty of installation
• Not included is hardware to mount the hanger rail.  It is necessary to purchase hardware that is appropriate for your specific mounting surface.  For example, brick requires a different mounting hardware than drywall.
• MDF is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to.   If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.
